Gently hand-harvested after midnight to ensure cold fruit arrives at the winery. The grapes were sorted by hand before being slowly destemmed into an open top tank. The wine experienced skin contact for 12 days before being drained to 100% French Oak Barrels. The wine was racked once in the spring and aged over 16 months before being bottled. Our Chalone Pinot Noir is a dark shade of magenta, due to the clone 667, the elevation and the dry conditions of Chalone Vineyard.

This bottling from a single block in this historic vineyard begins with suavely integrated aromas of plum, mulberry and light baking spice. The palate pairs rich cherry with vanilla, as chiseled tannins show just enough edge to deliver the ripe, spicy flavors into a warm pastry-like finish.Wine Enthusiast, July 2021
