Tina's Block in the Maple Vineyard sits up on a bench above Dry Creek Valley on the East side. The vines are very old (1910) in a vineyard mix of zinfandel (80+%), petite sirah, carignane, mission, black malvasia (a.k.a cincault), grenache, and some still-unidentified-black grapes. Originally Tom and Tina Maple slated this vineyard block for removal because of its mix and decrepitude. But gradually as they came to know and appreciate the different varieties in this they began in earnest to retrain and rehabilitate the viable old vines and replace the dead vines with healthy young Zin plants. This old, head pruned and dry farmed vineyard block, with its unique combination of varietals creates a powerful and concentrated Zinfandel. This wine is classic Tina's Block with tons of lush fruit, blueberries, blackberries, and black cherries. Sweet vanilla oak, cola, and cinnamon finish out this well balanced wine. A beauty and a block buster - not for the faint of heart or palate!

Blackberry and plum aromas mix with subtle hints of anise, graham cracker and black currant. The entry is a burst of refreshingly sweet raspberry pie and blueberries balanced with juicy cranberries. The seductive finish has some sandy-textured finish that will continue to soften with aging. The savory and spice flavors of the wine will continue to gain in complexity over the next fifteen years.Winemaker Brandon Lapides
With the addition of 20% mixed black grapes from 100-plus year-old vines, this consistently interesting, complex wine opens in thick tones of leather, tobacco and cedar. Savory throughout, it tastes of crushed rock, wild blackberry and a tease of gamy meat. It was aged entirely in French oak.Wine Enthusiast July 2021
